blås&knåda is situated on the old cobbled street called
Hornsgatspuckeln in the southern part of Stockholm called Södermalm. The
street is well known for housing many galleries and also for the beautiful surroundings
and the view from Mariabergen across the water towards the old town and the
city. Being the largest gallery on 'Puckeln' we are open every day in the week
(Closed Sundays during weeks 25-33).
blås&knåda receives most visitors at weekends and the shop
is then staffed by two working artist members. During the week there is one
member and Annika Soderqvist in the shop, plus our curator and manager Karin
Holmats. One of the basic conditions for the organization since the start has
been for the members of the cooperative both to work in the shop and meet the
customers. The window displays change its look with exhibitions. Every third
week a working group made up by two members change the window display. The shop
assortment varies during the year depending on each member's work in the studio.
Limited editions and unique artwork signify the shop assortment. We also sell
books, cards and gift-vouchers apart from our own production.
